Windham County Bar Association members volunteer their time and resources on a number of committees that support the work of the legal community, promote community service, educate members of the public and more. The following is a partial list of some of the groups that have been active in the past year. If you are interested in working with one of our committees, please contact the WCBA.

Public Service Committee

This committee meets periodically to identify projects that will benefit Windham County’s most vulnerable residents. Through the efforts of this committee and the generosity of WCBA members, more than 150 backpacks filled with personal care items and gifts were donated recently to children who are living in shelters because they have been displaced from their homes by domestic violence. The committee has also worked on issues such as expanding pro bono legal services in the region.

Law Day Committee

The Law Day Committee plans the annual Law Day observance for the Windham Judicial District and identifies recipients of the Liberty Bell Award and potential guest speakers.

CLE Committee

Continuing Legal Education for attorneys is the focus of this group’s efforts. The CLE committee is working to offer CLE programs in Windham County in the near future.

Web Committee

The web committee meets periodically to review content and design for the WCBA website and to review submissions for publication on the website.
